Stunning home office in Gosforth.

Dear Rhona,

A huge thank you to all of the team - the job is absolutely magnificent. The whole team were so neat and tidy and a pleasure to be around. What could have been a stressful period was not at all and that's a real credit to the team.

With all best wishes

The room is used as Mr R from Gosforth study to work and also to listen to music.
With an adjoining wall to a neighbour he was occasionally interrupted by noise from next door.

NOOK Design not only fitted the alcoves library furniture but also installed behind an acoustic barrier professional sound proofing system ensuring he will never be disturbed again.
Using the existing picture rail pulled forward to break the two areas of the new book cases it appears that the furniture is original and always been there, and now houses Mr R’s book collection.

Painted in Fern Green and Satinwood White to exactly match the room decor.

"Nook designed and installed two matching bespoke library units for two alcoves on either side of a chimney breast.

The workmanship was excellent.

Everything was carefully planned and finished off and the place was left spotlessly clean.

We observed at first hand how much care was taken over the details.

The units fitted in perfectly and it was only really at the end that the excellence of the design became apparent.

Very happy indeed."

This children’s media wall was unusual as the chimney breast was offset to one side of the room. By using narrow and full depth crafted furniture the wall was ‘straighten off’ and all the available storage and display space used.
Spray painted in Farrow & Ball railings No. 31

In a large alcove to only one side of an open fireplace.

Log store, storage cupboards with touch opening doors.

Wall mounted TV with all cables hidden.

Display to either side of TV, with bookshelves above.

Finished in white with only a 10% sheen.

A big reader and huge Harry Potter fan our clients daughter wanted a Hogwarts themed bookcase, with rolling ladder in the corner of her bedroom.

Standing over three meters tall with fluted side panels and ornate cornice.

Finished in golden oak complete with ornamental Owl, ‘Hedwig’.

Daughter and dog Tyrian were thrilled with the finished piece.

“Nook Designs were a pleasure to
deal with from start to finish.
Rhona was very understanding of
my budget and vision of what I
wanted from my new fitted

I was able to specify the exact
sizes of the shelves to fit my
albums, books, DVD’s and CD’s.

The fitters were extremely
professional and efficient
(and very tidy!)

I will definitely use Nook Designs
again in the future and wouldn’t
hesitate to recommend them”

Not far from Gosforth High Street, our clients' impressive terraced house is being renovated to a

high standard, without spoiling the period features with great taste and charm.
NOOK's brief was to design and install a library wall in the first-floor living room, around the original marble

fireplace and incorporating the doorway into the room.
The library should be almost full height but still expose the existing ornate cornice and exactly match

the original high skirting.
The design needed to include storage for a large vinyl LP record collection, many books, new wall lighting and use door and drawer handles collected by our clients over several years.
A library ladder allowed access to the highest shelves and fluted pilasters suitable columns for the new upturned lights.
Finished in Little Greene (221) Basalt Blue the new library wall is another lovely feature in a wonderful home.

“ We are delighted with the library wall that Nook Design built for us, the final result captures our vision perfectly. Great craftsmanship with lots of lovely design details that reflect the period features of our home. Thank you! “

Mr & Mrs M. Gosforth

Three large deep storage cupboards at each side of the fireplace, hiding video equipment and electrical wiring to the right hand side with TV above.

Finished in classic white to match and blend with the existing skirting, da-do rail and traditional cornice..

A large entrance hall in Whickham provided a superb opportunity to transform an empty space into a welcoming and now often used library, creating an attractive and practical starting point to explore the rest of the house.

Mrs. S from Morpeth wanted the cupboard under the stairs which had accumulated years of clutter, updated.
As a book lover she envisaged a small library with desk, a secret recess for personal papers

and as a jigsaw enthusiast, large drawers for storing her favorites.

The dark and rather dingy space was transformed into a warm bright additional room with oak flooring, plenty of shelving for books, a fold down desk and matching oak stool, and jigsaw shaped drawer handles, a secret cupboard completed the conversion.

“I am thrilled, my husband is gob-smacked! I dreamt about creating this magical space for long time; it’s surpassed my every expectation”
